About Lisa Detanna

Over the course of her lengthy career in wealth management and personal investing, Lisa Detanna has operated in the upper echelons of her profession, gaining widespread recognition from clients and colleagues alike for her work. Following receipt of her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and four years as a Manager of various Sears retail outlets in the greater Los Angeles region, Lisa Detanna entered the financial arena at Drexel Burnham Lambert in Beverly Hills – then one of the top investment banking firms in the country. After spending a period focused on capital markets at Drexel Burnham, Lisa Detanna accepted an opportunity with Dabney Resnick (now part of Imperial Capital, LLC), where she would enjoy significant professional development over the next nine years. Lisa Detanna also attended evening courses at the Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management during her first two years at Dabney Resnick, graduating with her M.B.A. in 1992. Considered one of the top investment advisors at Imperial Capital, LLC, Lisa Detanna eventually left to work for Morgan Stanley in Beverly Hills in 1999 and furthered her exemplary track record in the world of investing and wealth management. As a result of her performance, Smith Barney hired Lisa Detanna to serve as Senior Vice President of Investments in 2001 – a post she maintained through the company’s 2009 sale to Morgan Stanley and beyond. Among her many achievements during this period, Lisa Detanna earned selection as Featured Mentor for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Women Financial Advisors Forum, served the needs of personal and institutional investors in Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Management division, and was ranked among Barron’s Top 100 Women Financial Advisors in 2010.

Today, Lisa Detanna works as a financial advisor with Raymond James, where she provides clients with all manner of financial, tax, estate, and retirement planning, along with such products as life insurance, and long-term care insurance. In addition, Lisa Detanna maintains affiliation with the Financial Planning Association and regularly speaks at industry conventions, most recently the Beverly Hills-based Educational Workshop: The Global Economy and How to Invest in It.
